Empowerment Definition

Merriam-Webster defines empowerment in two ways: 

1. the act or action of empowering someone or something : the granting of the power, right, or authority to perform various acts or duties.

2. the state of being empowered to do something : the power, right, or authority to do something.

Oxford Languages also provides two definitions:

1. authority or power given to someone to do something.

2. the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one's life and claiming one's rights.
