Friday Night Lights was a movie based on a Texas high school that looked forward to football games on Friday nights. The movie eclipsed how team spirit, team pride, and being part of a team were beneficial in so many ways, not only winning.
This program uses the sport of basketball to foster and promote interaction within and between schools. Interscholastic athletic participation has a variety of benefits for all students who participate, both on and off the court. Particularly, it gives students with disabilities and those at-risk a chance to feel the excitement and pride of being part of their school’s basketball team.
Friday Night Prime Time aims to provide authentic interscholastic athletic participation for students with disabilities and allows all students the opportunity to represent their school in competition.
FNPT is currently islandwide on Oahu with 15 participating high schools in the Spring 2026 season.
