The NSF ExLENT Internship is an 10-week long program where students will work one-on-one with an Industry Partner who specializes in emerging technologies within STEM fields. Students will spend five (5) hours per week with your cohort at the KapCC STEM Center completing weekly workshops. This internship will sharpen critical thinking and analytical skills while providing hands-on experience to boost job prospects, advance career, and strengthen academic performance.
Preference for internships are given to those who've attended our Workshops and/or Site Visits.

Students will work with their mentor to determine the parameters of a research project which will guide their job responsibilities for the full 10 weeks of the internship. At the conclusion of the internship, students will be required to create a poster that highlights their experiences and research, and prepare a presentation to be given at the annual SURF symposium at the end of the Fall semester.

3. Must be able to commit 40 hours/week, including:
Mandatory 2 hour orientation
Weekly cohort meetings
Research and poster creation
2-3 Unrulr posts per week
Completion of all Pre, Mid, and Post surveys
Presenting and attending Student Undergraduate Research Fair (SURF) at the end of the Fall semester
