Welcome back to Term 3!

Term 3 Overview:

Important Days:

  • News this term is changing to 'What's in the Bag?' Your child will bring a bag home and they will need to return the bag the next day with a mystery item inside. They will need to be prepared with 3 clues about their item. They will then share these clues with the class and the class will try and guess what's in the bag.
  • Library Day is Thursday
  • Spelling and Poem is on Friday
  • Homework is put on this site on Fridays

ART:

  • This week we had a go at printing. We created a spring picture with cardboard and then used the rollers and paint to create two prints.

Super work Leonardo, Zadie, Lincoln and Sienna this week!

Great job to these groups for their efforts with their plays lately! We have enjoyed watching them.

Inquiry/Technology

Check out our amazing sock puppets! We had lots of fun making these this week! We will begin creating puppet shows next week.

We showed off our puppets at the open day assembly.

Book Week

Wow what a fun week!

We've had so many guest speakers, parents read to us, made fun book crafts, played book games and enjoyed lots of reading! The character parade was fun and colourful!

Week 5

Humpty Dumpty

This week we've looked at the classic nursery rhyme and story 'Humpty Dumpty'

We had to come up with a story about why Humpty got on the wall and how he fell off the wall. Come in and read our versions of the story!

We designed a way to protect Humpty from cracking as he fell and we also had to create a wall by sorting the words of the nursery rhyme.

Reading:

  • The Question Marks (and Cole) presented an awesome pirate play this week! Lots of great props, expression and hard work! Super job!

Week 3

Well done Lily and Huia for being spotted for being super this week!

READING:

  • Plays

The Exclamation Marks started off our plays this week by performing 'Mister Blister.' They practised together all week and even incorporated some props, expression and actions into their play. It was very funny and the class was entertained! Great job!


  • Felt boards

We had to create a picture on the Felt Boards and then tell a story with a beginning, middle and end. Here's some of our stories!

Week 2

Writing:

This week we read the story 'Snowmen at Night' about what snowmen get up to at night time! We had to come up with our own version of what they do. We also thought of as many winter words as we could. Some of us had more than 80 words!

We created a fashion show snowman on Seesaw and we also used puffy paint to create a snowman. See it all below :)


Maths

We did some nonstandard winter measuring using 'snowballs' (Cotton balls) this week!

Room 6 Homework T3 Wk 2

Week 1

This week was Kobe's last week with us. He shared a surprise farewell lunch with Room 6 on Friday. Thank you Kobe! We will miss you!

We also were super lucky to see the seniors have a session with Thomas Abercrombie. We got a sneaky photo with him too!
