• Using a computer, I created a chef knife because I love to cook and I can't find the perfect handle.

• During this process, I learned that the slot for the blade to go in has to be in the middle of it will be not evenly weighted.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I have designed something that can help young cooks to cut nicely and fast without cutting themself.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was Having to make the hole just right and in the middle for the knife to go in. I was able to do it by fiddling with a bunch of sizes.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the groves and textures. The reason why I would change it is because my the handle is a little basic.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Culinary Arts CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in blacksmithing.
