4 Planning Questions

I am working by myself

I need a sewing machine and fabric and pillow stuffing

I am going to create a floor pillow

it will be made for my basement

Using fabric, pillow stuffing, and a sewing machine I created a harry potter floor pillow because I love harry potter and i was redoing the basement. I wanted to add a pillow but we didn't have any big enough. I went to the store and got 2 48inch pieces of fabric. one was black and the other was harry potter.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to creative communicator because I communicated with my neighbor and I barrowed her sewing machine. I also communicated with her and she taught me how to use one. With her help I now know hot to use a sewing Machine and I plan to sew more things.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the engineering desing CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in sewing. I could be a seamstress, or something else that uses a sewing machine, like a pillow maker. or I could sew anything that gets riped now that I know how.

During this process, I learned how to use a sewing machine. I had always wanted to learn and lucky for me my neighbor has a sewing machine. She showed me how to use a sewing machine and how to keep the fabric strait. she also gave me a bag of pillow stuffing even thought it wouldn't be nearly enough to fill the whole thing.

A challenge I overcame on this project was sewing it. I had to turn the fabric inside out and sew it. this is so you don't see the stitches. You also have to keep the stiches strait. I was able to do it by practice and help. my friend helped me keep it strait for the first side and she showed me how to. she let me do the rest myself I did a good job in my opinion.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the shape. I would change it to circle or triangle instead. The reason why I would change it is because I feel like a circle or triangle would be more difficult. It would be harder to cut but I think it would look really cool.
