I am working by myself on this project. I wanted to handle the design and building on my own. This lets me work at my own pace and be creative.

What materials will you need for your project?
I will need cardboard and tape to build my replica. I might also use hot glue to hold pieces together better. These materials are easy to shape and work with.

What is your plan to create in this project?
My plan is to build a cardboard map replica of Oregon from Rainbow Six Siege. I want to include the main building and make it look as close to the real map as I can.

What unique qualities will your project have?
My project will have Castle’s barricades, a roaming Cav, and attackers rappelling down the building. I might also add breakable walls and room labels to make it look more realistic.

In this project, I used cardboard, hot glue, and lots of duct tape to create a replica of the Oregon map from Rainbow Six Siege, one of my favorite video games. During this process, I learned how important angles and precise measurements are when building a cardboard structure. It took careful planning and patience to get everything to fit together. This experience helped me develop stronger problem-solving and design skills.

My project connects to the “Innovative Designer” standard because I used creativity and imagination to plan and build something from scratch. I had to think about how to make the structure realistic while only using simple materials. It required me to design, test, and adjust my plans as I went. This process showed me the value of experimenting when trying to create something new.

A challenge I overcame during this project was figuring out how to make the correct cuts and measurements. At first, it was difficult to get the right shapes for each piece of the building. I kept practicing until I finally achieved the correct angles and proportions. By experimenting and trying different methods, I was able to complete the project successfully.

If I had the chance to do this project again, I would change the layout of the building. My final version wasn’t a perfect replica of the original Oregon map, and I would like to improve that next time. I now understand what areas could be positioned or sized better. Making these changes would help me build an even more accurate model in the future.

My project also connects to the Construction Trades program in the Hastings High School Career and Technical Education (CTE) offerings. I had to measure, cut, and glue pieces together just like someone working in construction would. These skills are important in real careers where precision and planning matter. It helped me see how classroom projects can connect to hands-on trade work.
