A team with Breanna Busboom, Trinity Hester, Saphira Salazar
What materials will you need for your project?
fabric, pins, sewing machine and thread
What is your plan to create in this project?
A sewn bag
What unique qualities will your project have? Sewn with different shapes, textures, patterns, and colours
Using a sewing machine I created a bag because I wanted to expand my knowledge of technologies. during this process I learned how to use a sewing machine, the difference between embroidering thread and sewing thread, and how to measure fabric to be ready for sewing. The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to creative communicator because I am showing my creative abilities through sewing various things. A challenge I overcame with this project was that I did not have any clue how to use a sewing machine. I was able to overcome this challenge by testing things out until it worked and I picked it up pretty fast. Given a chance to redo my project I would add two straps and cut the fabric more even. I would change this because I did not like the awkwardness of the single strap making the bag look weird and the excess fabric makes the bag look uneven.
