Using Code.org, I created a game where you play as a rocket ship because I figured it would be easy enough to make.
During this process, I learned how to make things, such as games, in code.org.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I coded a game, and if somethint didn't work, I figurerd out how to fix it until my game worked and was finished.
A challenge I overcame on this project was adding a cooldwon to the lasers. I was able to do it by adding a new variable and figuring out how to code it..
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the sprites. The reason why I would change it is because the sprites do not look great.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the Digital Multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School.
