Using Microsoft Makecode, Micro:Bit, PC, I created a top-down game like Galaga on the Micro:Bit because the game was simple enough to code on the Micro:bit, but still took some time to create.
During this process, I learned how to code more complex games using Microsoft Makecode.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Deisgner because I made my game using a design process; I tested my game, and if something didn't work, I figured out how to make it work.
A challenge I overcame on this project was coding the score mechnic and the timer. I was able to do it by using specific blocks in a different category.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the sopund. The reason why I would change it is because I don't include sounds or music in this one.
