i browesed other peoples projects
i brainstormed my 10 ideas and starded a idea making croc charms
i made another idea a rock wal for a lizard
i made a coin bank house thing
I made a fidget toy
i choose the house and got it printed
Using brainstorming ideas and thinking skills, I created a piggy bank house because I need a piggy bank and I needed to solve a problem and the problem was in have nowhere to put my change. to solve this problem I made a device called the house of coins where I store my coins in the house and I can take them out whenever I want to. I choose this idea cause all of my other ideas would've been way to small and they didn't solve that big of a problem.
During this process, I learned how to use tinker CAD. I also learned how to lock objects correctly and make holes in objects. I also learned somewhat about how a 3d printer worked and that you need a STL to print it. This also taught me a little bit more about how 3d objects work on a computer.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to global collaborator because I am collaborating around the world with my website that I posted my project on. everyone on earth can see my website and that's why it ties with global collaborator. they just have to have the link to my website and they can learn about me and what I did in my innovation and design class.
A challenge I overcame on this project was locking objects together I was able to do it by asking for help. My friends helped me with this by sharing how to lock objects and making holes in objects. this helped me by being able to make the coin slots and the hole to get the coins out. I also figured out how to make animals be on my project witch you can see on my shoe charm idea.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the hole to get the coin out. The reason why I would change it is because the hole was way to big the coins just fell out. this was a huge problem cause it would not function correctly. I accidently did this cause I thought it would be way smaller and would be easier to use. I also would add a door to the front cause there's just no wall there and it kind of gives away the point of a piggy bank.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the engineering design CTE program at Hastings High School cause they engineer and design 3d objects. they also use 3d printers every day in there class. I don't really want to do this class but I think that other people might enjoy this class. they sometimes use 3d printing websites like tinker CAD.
My project connects to careers in animation because it is a 3d object that can be animated to be used in 3d animation. A 3d animator can use 3d objects for their animating. this can even be used in stop motion animation cause they can 3d print the object and use it for their background or objects in the animating. this also could connect to construction cause you are making a 3d object witch u can use this for buildings sculptures or every day items.
