During this project, I used micro:bits to create a clap-activated light show because I was interested in making clap lights. Throughout the process, I also learned how to create songs using the micro:bit, which added a creative element to my project.

This project connects to several of the ISTE standards. In particular, it relates to the Digital Citizen standard because I share my work online. It also connects to Creative Communicator since I used technology to express ideas through both sound and light.

One challenge I faced during this project was figuring out how to get started and what steps to take. I overcame this challenge by asking a friend for help, which allowed me to better understand the process and continue making progress.

If I were given the chance to do this project again, I would improve the song I created. I would focus on making it more detailed and interesting because creating music with the micro:bit is something new to me and I would like to get better at it.

The Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers several pathways, including Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects most closely to the Digital Multimedia program because it involves combining technology, sound, and visual effects.

This project also relates to careers in the creative arts, where professionals design and produce light shows and other visual experiences for entertainment.
