Tool: 3D printer/ laser cutter
25 Possibilities
Using a 3D printer and the website Tinker Cad, I created a deer that can be hung up with a nail because at a school like Hastings there a quite of few people who hunt or like the outdoors.
During this process, I learned how a 3D printer works and how to design a 3D print.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Creative Communicator and Computational Thinker because I had to think of how i was going to create the buck and how it was going to look and I had to figure out the lengths of the antlers.
A challenge I overcame on this project was not having very many ideas and have never 3D printed before, I was able to do it by watching videos on how the printer works and just thinking of what i enjoy the most.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the way the face looks and add more detail . The reason why I would change it is because some people may not be able to tell what it looks like.
This project connect to careers in digital multimedia and the engineering design at Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program.
