8P11- Coding

Using scratch, I created a little coding video that had 2 people playing basketball and one of them is in a wheelchair. I created this because I have always loved basketball and I think it is fun watching people play and I love the fact that people can also play in a wheelchair its honestly great.

During this process, I learned how to code things and have the basketball glide across the court.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to computational thinker. My project ties to computational thinker because I had to come up with ideas for a basketball court or something else but I decided to do a basketball court I also had to figure out how to use the coding and what I wanted to do with the ball and the people.

A challenge I overcame on this project was coding things and making the ball go to the right place and the people to the right position. I was able to do it by asking for help and putting things on the coding to see what it did and where it took the ball and changed peoples position .

Given a chance to do this again, I would change nothing. The reason why I would change nothing about my project is because I like what I made and I think my project turned out pretty cool.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the computer programming CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in big data engineer, Web developer and computer software engineer.
