Transcripted Credit (see below)
If you have a knack for money matters, accounting might make perfect ‘cents.’ Accounting focuses on the importance of being able to understand, interpret, and use accounting information to make financial decisions.
Accounting is often called “the language of business,” because it communicates so much of the information that owners, managers, and investors need to evaluate a company’s performance. In fact, the purpose of accounting is to help these stakeholders make better business decisions by providing them with accurate and timely financial information.
In this class, we will take a hands-on approach to planning, recording, analyzing and interpreting financial information.
Are you interested in business? If so, accounting might be for you. “According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of accountants and auditors is projected to grow 4 percent from 2019 to 2029, about as fast as the average for all occupations. Globalization, a growing economy, and a complex tax and regulatory environment are expected to continue to lead to strong demand for accountants and auditors.”
Transcripted credits are offered through a partnership with Hastings High School and Chippewa Valley Technical College, which allows students to earn both high school and technical college credit at the same time for certain HHS courses. These courses help students prepare for the rigor of college coursework, can reduce workload during college, and can save students hundreds of dollars in tuition and book fees. These courses are taught by certified high school teachers using the technical college competencies and grading practices. Upon successful completion of these courses, earning a C or higher, students will earn technical college credit. These credits can then be transferred to many technical colleges as well as colleges and universities. To find out how college credits will transfer, please go to transferology.com
