About Mrs. B

Hi! I’m Emily Baldonado, and I’m excited to join Beacon Academy as a credentialed school counselor. I recently moved from Paso Robles, CA, but I’m originally from Maryland and so happy to be back on the east coast.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English Education from Washington Adventist University and later completed my Master of Arts in Counseling with a Pupil Personnel Services credential from UMass Global (formerly Brandman University). Before coming to Beacon, I had the privilege of supporting students across a wide range of ages and abilities, including early childhood, special education, alternative education, elementary, high school, and higher education.

I consider my role as a school counselor, supporting students, families and my school a joy and privilege!  I truly believe that every student has the potential to succeed. They just need someone to help them recognize their strengths, abilities, and sense of identity.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, crocheting, and traveling. On the weekends, you’ll probably find me at a local thrift or bookstore with an almond milk matcha in hand!
