Dear Parents,

Everyone is being bombarded with so much information, some of which is helpful, and some less so. We hope to use this page to share relevant links, articles, webinars and videos, some made by the familiar members of the psychology team. We would love to hear your feedback!

This is a trying time for everyone, as we try to juggle so many balls, which are all in the air simultaneously. It's OK if some of them drop. Actually, it's inevitable. While we may all feel some level of anxiety, our challenge as parents is to model managing it as best we can, while projecting positivity and reassurance to our children. Yes, school work is important. However, when your children are grownups and reflect back upon this historic time in their lives, they won't remember the extra math problem that they learned or the pasuk of Chumash. They will reflect back on the atmosphere in the home, the warmth, the love, the comfort that surrounded them. They will recall how you helped them turn lemons into lemonade, through the fun they had exercising with their parents, the spirituality they felt as you davened in unison, the delicious special cookies they baked, the silly things the family did or the scrapbook they made (and may even still have to show their own children!)

Feel free to reach out with any questions, and we may even use this as a forum to answer them (of course without names!)

Stay safe and relatively sane :) !

Dr. Karyn Feinberg (kfeinberg@hartorah.org)
