Term Two:
Theme: How We Organise Ourselves.
This term, we will be following different lines of inquiry to help us find out about "a range of systems that can be used to connect communities around the world."
Our lines of inquiry include:
Types of systems (Form)
How systems connect with each other (Connection)
How systems have changed with the developing technological world (Change)
Term 2 - Knowledge Organisers
In Art we have been looking at Impressionism and in particular the artist Paul Cezanne. We went on an amazing trip to the National Art Gallery! We saw paintings dating from the 1700s and were able to attempt sketching some of them too.
In DT we have been creating key rings, we used a saw to cut our designs and then used a file to smoothen the edges. It was really tricky but in the end we really liked the end product. These are our own designs for our packaging!
In Inquiry, we were looking at different types of poetry; in particular blackout and cinquain. We used our current classreader 'Kensuke's Kingdom' to be the text for our blackout poem. Additionally, we wrote cinquain poems about four different things: the forest, the sea, the island and an orangutan. Cinquain poems have 5 lines and a certain amount of syllables on each line. In Inquiry, we wrote informal letters from the perspective of Michael to home. We made links to the class reader and 'missed' the family dearly.
