Brad Laibly is the proud Director of Bands for Hartland High School. Since joining the district in 2005 and taking on the director role in 2014, Mr. Laibly has been instrumental in the music program's growth and success.
He brings a fresh, vibrant approach to the marching field, guiding the 250-member Hartland Eagles Marching Band. His work extends year-round into the band room, where he directs a wide array of ensembles, including the symphonic band, wind symphony, and three jazz bands. He is known for his refined excellence in the concert setting and for selecting music that is "contagiously elating and infectiously catchy."
His ability to connect with students and foster a love for music earned him a WHMI "Making the Grade" and received the Golden Apple award twice as voted by the student body, highlighting the positive and enduring impact he has on the Hartland band community.
Allison Laibly is a dedicated music educator for Hartland Consolidated Schools, serving as the instructor for the 7th and 8th-grade bands at Hartland Middle School at Ore Creek. She also holds the role of assistant marching band instructor for the Hartland Eagles Marching Band at the high school.
With a deep commitment to the district spanning over two decades, Allison has been an integral part of the HCS music program since 2002 and joined the high school's marching program in 2014. Her passion for music education and student success was recognized when she was named the 2025 Hartland Consolidated Schools Teacher of the Year.
Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Laibly is a published arranger of music for elementary and intermediate bands and writes drill for the high school marching band. She is known for her dedication to knowing her students, her enthusiasm in the classroom, and her irreplaceable presence on the marching field.
Amy Tennis is the newest staff member of Hartland Bands, serving as an Assistant Marching Band Director. In 2024, Amy joined Farms Intermediate as the Director of Bands for 5th and 6th-grade students. Before joining Hartland, Amy spent 11 years in the Carman-Ainsworth School District, where she held various roles, including Fine Arts Coordinator, Director of Middle School Bands, and Assistant Marching Band Director for the High School’s Blue Brigade. Before her time at Carman-Ainsworth, Amy was the Director of Instrumental and Vocal Music at St. John Vianney in Flint, MI.
A proud Hartland alumna, Laura Moore joined the Hartland Eagles Marching Band staff as a colorguard instructor in 2021. She is excited to be back with the band program in a leadership role, helping students perfect their performance skills. When she is not on the marching field, Mrs. Moore is also a teacher at the high school and serves as the Vice-President of the Hartland Education Association
Jack Tallman is a music educator and performer hailing from Jackson, Michigan. Jack has been a percussionist since he was twelve years old, in addition to studying voice and drum set. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a minor in Jazz Studies from Michigan State University. While at MSU, Jack performed as a member of the Michigan State Drumline, Salsa Verde salsa ensemble, Spartan Brass, MSU Symphony Orchestra, University Chorale, Percussion Ensemble, Mbira Ensemble, and more. Jack has performed globally in Taiwan, where the MSU Taiwan Percussion Ensemble won the TPAA World Championship in 2019. Jack has also performed with the Lansing Symphony Orchestra and Hillsdale College Percussion Ensemble.
Jack currently teaches multiple high school percussion programs and drumlines in the Jackson, Ann Arbor, and Metro Detroit areas. He serves as Adjunct Professor of Percussion at Jackson College where he teaches the JC Drumline. Jack maintains a private lesson studio, and his students have gone on to perform in top ensembles such as the MSU Drumline and Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps.
Jack is a proud member of the Vic Firth Education Team.
