Course Syllabus

Instructional Strategies:

Students will learn through various strategies such as TPR (total physical response), visual aids, listening and speaking activities, role-playing, writing, and reading comprehension.

CULTURES

Students will have gained a deeper knowledge and understanding of the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. They will be more acquainted with the places where Spanish is spoken, will have explored some of the main cultural, social, and historical events of the Hispanic world, and will have increased their awareness of the U.S. Hispanic/Latinx communities.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

-Introduce themselves to others. -Exchange personal information-Identify topics of interest-Ask and answer questions about basic information -Express likes and dislikes.-Talk about everyday topics such as their studies, their family, and activities in their free time.-Talk about future plans-Express degree-Talk about abilities and knowledge.

GUIDELINES • For the Student-Students will earn grades based on student performance and achievement.-Students will use the Academic Time for assigned work and meet with staff (teachers, counselors, other specialists) for additional support, as needed.-Students will need to schedule an appointment to meet with their teacher(s) or maybe mandated to meet at the teacher’s request.- Students will attend, be actively engaged, and present in all instruction --.- Students will turn in work on time.-Students will complete assigned work that will require additional time beyond the scheduled class periods.-Students will contact teachers if they're experiencing issues accessing theinstruction/learning, including language barriers, as soon as possible.-Students will use the common learning platforms and Distance Learning Tools.-Students will respond to teacher comments/questions in a timely manner and respect teacher availability.For the Parent-Parents will ensure that all contact information in PowerSchool is up to date andaccurate, especially when there are changes.-Parents will support students by ensuring that students follow their assigned school schedule, attend all classes, submit all required work, and follow a personal schedule at home that allows for adequate rest.-Parents will notify the school office to report student absences as soon as possible.
