In math we support students with their counting, numeral recognition, computation, problem solving, and mathematical thinking. We utilize a variety of programs to support these skills. At home your child can:
Count objects with 1:1 correspondence (saying one number for every object they touch) using everyday objects like coins, dry beans, noodles, buttons, etc.
Count orally by ones, twos, fives, and tens.
Play games like Yahtzee, Trouble, Uno, etc.
Do mental math in the car, or anywhere! For example: "We have to travel 10 miles and we've already driven 3. How many more miles do we have to go?"
Cook or bake something with an adult.
