Kullen Welch - Principal
I am excited to welcome our new class of students to the campus of La Mesa! I have been at La Mesa since the 22-23 school year and have been with the District since 2002 where I started teaching at Hart High School. I have served as Administrator at Hart and Saugus High School before coming to the La Mesa campus.
You are going to love La Mesa! The teachers, support staff, office staff and custodians make this place special and you will see that from the first time you step foot on our campus! Welcome! Welcome Lobos! I'm excited to meet you. This is my 21st year with the Hart District and my 6th year as an assistant principal. I was born and raised in Santa Clarita and am a Hart District graduate. I began my career as a 7th and 8th grade history teacher and truly enjoy working with students.
This is my first year at La Mesa. In my short time I have learned what a special place La Mesa is to learn, explore, and have FUN! I look forward to creating memories with you.

Hello future Lobos & welcome to La Mesa! I am honored to serve as your assistant principal and look forward to meeting you on campus soon. I have worked at La Mesa for the last 5 years. I can tell you that La Mesa is a great place for learning and growing. The staff here want you to succeed and achieve your goals and they always go the extra mile to meet your needs.
Before my time at La Mesa, I was an administrator and history teacher in LAUSD. My career has focused on middle school. I care about supporting you through your junior high journey and want to ensure you are well-prepared for high school.
