2026/27 Tryout Information
Are you interested in becoming a GVHS Cheerleader?
Please fill out this interest form to be eligible to participate in Tryouts!
This form must be completed by April 1st.
After completing the form, please be sure to gather a copy of your Q3 grades, complete registration on CA Athletic Clearance (registration opens April 1st), and two teacher recommendations.
There is a mandatory parent meeting on April 2nd from 7-8pm at GVHS in Room 516. Students and their parents must attend this meeting in order for your child to be eligible to participate in tryouts.
Tryout Clinics will take place on April 13th and 14th. Evaluation Day will be April 16th.
Students MUST attend all clinic days in order to participate in tryouts. If a day is missed, you will be disqualified.
Tryout Clinic Information and Expectations
Participating students must wear all black attire to clinic. This includes athletic shoes, black shorts or leggings, a full-length modest top and a cheer bow.
Athletes will not be able to participate if they have acrylic or long nails or jewelry. Chewing gum is not permitted during tryout clinics or evaluation.
Check in for clinics will begin promptly at 4pm. Clinic will take place from 4:30pm to 7pm on April 13th and 14th
Tryout Evaluations will take place on April 16th starting at 2:30pm.
Please ensure your athlete wears a white full-length top, black athletic shorts or leggings, athletic shoes and a cheer bow for Evaluations.
La Mesa and GV students who have a 7th period are expected to arrive at 4pm to start the tryout process. They will not need to leave school early to participate in tryouts.
Results will be posted on our website by April 19th at 5pm.
