Parent Opt-Out
If a parent replies "STOP" to messages, then they will no longer receive messages from us. To opt back in, they will need to reply with the word START to opt back in. If they no longer have that message, they can text START to 939393 to resubscribe.
They can also text STATUS to 939393 to check the status of a subscription to messages from SchoolStatus.
Parents Not Receiving Messages:
We have been seeing a common issue recently where parents are only receiving SchoolStatus messages from certain teachers due to some new updates for both iPhones and Androids that are causing messages from unknown numbers to be filtered out of their inbox. Please have the parent try the following steps based on what type of phone he/she has:
Android:
Open the Messages app.
Tap on your profile icon in the search bar.
Select Spam & blocked.
The Spam & blocked folder contains all the conversations that have been filtered as potential spam or that you have manually blocked. From here, you can review, delete, or unblock messages.
How to unblock a conversation
Navigate to the Spam & blocked folder.
Tap on the blocked conversation you want to restore.
Select Unblock.
Apple:
Go to the Messages app on your iPhone.
Tap the menu icon at the top right of the conversation list, then tap Manage Filtering.
You can then check to see if Screen Unknown Senders is turned on.
If turned on, go to the Messages app on your iPhone.
Tap the menu icon at the top of the conversation list, then tap Unknown Senders.
