Sora is a reading app designed around the modern student reading experience.
On Sora, students and staff can access a large collection of ebooks, magazines and audiobooks for independent, self-directed, or teacher-assigned reading.
It can be used on a laptop through a regular internet browser, or on the app available on all Android and Apple devices.
Lower school students: log in through your username and password following the steps below.
Open Sora and click on "My school is Hong Kong Schools"
2. In the drop down menu, scroll down to Harrow School - Lower School
3. Type in your username: first name + last name (for example, Amy Wong will be amywong).
The password is reading.
All you need is an active membership (free). It's easy, just register online HERE.
There are two types of library memberships you can apply for:
Online account: this will allow you to access all the free ebooks provided by the HKPL. but you will not be able to borrow physical books from the library. You can register entirely online without ever setting foot in the building.
In-person borrowing account: this account will allow to enjoy all the free ebooks AND borrow physical books from any HKPL branch. You can register online, but you will still need to be accompanied by your parent(s) or guardian the first time you borrow a book.
To apply, you will need to upload:
a copy of your HKID
a copy of one of your parents' HKID
a proof of address (water, gas, electricity bill) - for book borrowing only
After registering with the HK Public Library, you will be able to access thousands more ebooks via an app called Libby.
This website pairs Fiction and Nonfiction books for pupils Years 1-3.
