Social Skills
Play a game with your family! If you lose, be a good sport and congratulate the winner!!

Set a timer for 2 minutes and when the time goes off, which ever color is shown on the discard pile helps direct the conversation. Example: If the color is yellow, talk about a time your were helpful to someone.
Coping Skills
What other calming down strategies can your child think of to add to the poster?
Mindfulness and Yoga
Take time each day to stretch and practice your belly breathing
Make a "Glitter Feelings Jar."Search Pintrest for possible ideas
Problem Solving
Talk about a problem that you have experienced and show how you used the strategies from the poster to solve your problem peacefully.
Additional activities:
Create a Gratitude Journal and share your entries with your family over dinner
Put "Positive Post-It Notes" on your bathroom mirror (ex. "You are going to have an awesome day today!")
Create your own STARS slips and hand them out to family and friends when they earn one!
