Child Care Licensing Information:
Obtaining a Family Child Care License in Oregon required for persons who provide childcare to more than three children from more than one family at any one time, other than the person's own children. If you are applying for a Registered Family (RF) license, you will need to attend Part 2 of the Introduction to Registered Family Child Care Class. If you are applying for a Certified Family (CF) Childcare license, start by calling the Office of Child Care at 1-800-558-8818. The steps below apply to both types of family childcare license.
Enroll in Oregon's Central Background Registry and follow instructions to complete fingerprinting. Central Background Registry - Oregon Early Learning Division

Complete license application and return it to the Offic of Child Care.
To renew your license, ensure you have completed all required training hours and submitted certificates to your ORO account as needed.
License Exempt, Home, and Relative Care (ODHS Orientation)
Required for those providing exempt care for three children or less, other than your own.
This session is a FREE class for any licensed or exempt provider that is becoming ODHS-listed. This class will provide information about the ODHS listing and billing process and offer supports and resources. It will give insight for becoming eligible for a higher rate of reimbursement from ODHS. you must pre-register: Please contact your local CCR&R to schedule a class. The class is 1.5 hours.
Introduction to Registered Family Child Care, Part Two
There are two parts to the Introduction to Registered Family Childcare class. The required Part one class is available online at Oregon Center for Career Development - PSU: English Courses (educadium.com) Part two is the in-person training you must attend after completing Part One. This free class provides a rule book, resources to help you be successful, information about Child Care Resource & Referral, and more. You must pre-register.
