Brad Martin is from Winston-Salem, NC and is currently completing his first season as the percussion instructor for the Overhills High School Marching Jaguars. He works within the Judge Advocate General’s Corp in the United States Army with a focus in National Security and Intelligence Law.
Brad’s playing experience has spanned across various positions and ensembles. His experience began in high school then DCA/DCI. His teaching experience includes ensembles across Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. While teaching in Florida his percussion programs achieved superior ratings at their Florida Bandmasters Association evaluations for consecutive seasons.
Brad is looking forward to his second season with the marching Jaguars percussion section.
Jaida McClenton, Color Guard Director
Jaida McClenton began her marching career at Swansboro High School, where she marched from 2020–2024. She currently marches with the Campbell University Marching Band and continues to grow her passion for music and performance. Jaida is excited to be part of the Overhills High School marching band staff and looks forward to helping students grow, build confidence, and have a successful season.
Carla Enriquez Rivera, Administrative Support

Mrs. Carla Enríquez serves as the Administrative Support for the Overhills Marching Jags. A dedicated educator and advocate for the program, Mrs. Enríquez has had two children in the band and currently has a junior clarinetist. Her family continues to play an active role in supporting the program, with her husband serving as Band Booster President this season. In addition to her work with the band, Mrs. Enríquez teaches Spanish I, II, and III at Overhills High School, where she inspires many of our marchers in the classroom. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
Joey Montes III
Visual & Choreographer Consultant
Jose Montes is a Visual Designer originally from El Paso, TX. He has an extensive dance background with an emphasis in Hip-Hop. Montes works with numerous competitive marching ensembles throughout the US. Montes writes drill, designs uniforms/props, choreographs, is a program coordinator, runs visual clinics/consulting and judges Indoor/Outdoor competitions across the country. He is the Executive Director of Eva Independent in Raleigh, NC. The organization has a successful Winds Group and is in the process of starting a Winter Guard and Indoor Percussion group under the same umbrella. When Montes isn’t immersed in the marching arts, he’s playing with his Boxer puppy names Charcoal.
Dr. Stephen Downing, Show Arranger/Designer
Stephen Downing is an internationally performed composer whose music has been featured across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Japan. His works have been brought to life by renowned performers and ensembles, including JACK Quartet, Icarus Quartet, Imani Winds, Yarn/Wire, Alex Sopp, and Hypercube. Known for his rhythmic vitality, shimmering textures, and emotional resonance, Stephen’s compositions span concert band, percussion ensemble, and chamber music, offering meaningful and accessible experiences for performers and audiences alike.
With a background as a music educator, Stephen’s music reflects his deep understanding of the educational and artistic needs of ensembles and individuals. His compositions balance artistic depth with practical considerations, making them a favorite for both educational and professional performers.
Stephen holds a Ph.D. in Music Composition and a Master’s of Music from Duke University, as well as a Bachelor’s in Music Performance from the University of Tennessee-Martin. For more information or inquiries about his music, please reach out to stephendowningmusic@gmail.com.
