Meet the Director
I’m excited to join a community with such a proud tradition of excellence and school spirit. At the heart of my teaching philosophy is a simple but powerful belief: “Meet the students where they are.” Every student brings unique strengths, backgrounds, and potential and it’s my mission to help them grow from that starting point, both musically and personally.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance (Saxophone) with a minor in Education from Chowan University. Along my journey, I’ve served as the Director of Bands at East Columbus Jr./Sr. High School in Lake Waccamaw, and had the privilege of working with the North Carolina Governor’s School East as an Instrumental Music Fellow for the past 3 years, supporting some of the most talented student musicians in the state.
Additionally, I’ve worked with numerous high school band programs across North Carolina as a woodwind and visual instructor, from 1A to 4A ensembles. These diverse experiences have taught me how to adapt to the needs of different programs and cultivate student-centered instruction that leads to both personal and ensemble success.
Let’s get ready for an incredible year of growth, music-making, and memories. I look forward to meeting each of you very soon!
