K-5 newly enrolled HSA students are eligible to be nominated by a parent or a teacher to test for the GT program. Parents who want to request their student be transferred from their previous school's GT program must provide documentation for the GT committee to determine their eligibility for our campus program.
*Documentation: GT enrollment permission form from the GT coordinator/teacher, Assessment scores (STAAR, CogAT, etc.) used to determine eligibility.
A parent permission form must be complete with signature and turned in at the front office or emailed to gjuarez@harmonytx.org by 9/30, or the last teacher workday in September.
GT Coordinator reviews the most recent NWEA MAP scores of the nominated students.
A score of 85 and above will qualify the student to take the CogAT assessment
A score <85 will not qualify the student to test for the GT program, unless outside evidence has been approved for consideration from the GT committee
Once the testing window closes, the GT committee will review test and rating scale scores to determine GT program eligibility
Parent letter with results will be ready at the front office December 1st (or the first teacher workday of the month)
