The mission of the Office of Instructional Success is to encourage, support, and promote excellence in teaching and learning throughout the college by providing workshops to all faculty and adjuncts of best practices in educational technology, pedagogy and methodology. Support is offered through workshops of guest speakers, in-service bi-annually, faculty book club, newsletters, and other Harcum sponsored events.
Assistant Vice President of Instructional Success
Dr. Joanne Ricevuto is the Assistant Vice President of Instructional Success, and created the Office of Instructional Success at Harcum College. She is also responsible for all of the faculty programming, which includes providing and presenting a multitude of professional workshops to the faculty on current topics in higher education, writing the bi-monthly newsletter, maintaining website, etc. She has been in higher education for 20+ years and is a professor of early childhood education, as well as the program director of the department.
She is coauthor on virtual teaching and learning articles: Virtual Instruction Support for Faculty, Assessments in a Virtual Environment: You Won't Need that Lockdown Browser!, Faculty Must Bend to Students' Needs in Virtual Learning as well as a with Stylus Publishing entitled Engaging Virtual Environments. Three of her most recent publications include an article in The Scholarly Teacher entitled: Incorporating Virtual Instructional Strategies that Increase Student Engagement, as well as on Fierce Education website an article entitled: End of the Semester Tips: How to Get Students to Love Your Course, and in Faculty Focus: Benefits to Beginning Class with a Visible Agenda.
