We were looking at replacing our existing devices with new PCs, but the cost of the new PCs was proving prohibitive for the amount we wanted to get across the sites.
Chromebooks presented a more cost effective alternative which students found easy to use, and managing them has been simple with the ability to centrally push out specific settings and Apps to them.

Students took to the machines straight away and the speed at which they were ready to use was a great plus point. Combined with a great battery life and our new wireless system were keen to use the Chromebooks to research their work and find new ways to collaborate with each other. Chromebooks were great to use in lessons for a number of reasons. The new technology in class helped engaged students, I could set differentiated tasks simply with no need for photocopying. The speed at which Chromebooks boot up and the small size meant they did not need to be the focus of the lesson and could be used to support for 5-10 minutes phases of the lesson, a huge contrast to typical laptops.
The collaboration that G Suite and the Chromebooks could bring can not be understated in it importance to teachers and schools.
