Q. What is CloudReady?

A: CloudReady is an operating system built and maintained by Neverware. Based on Google’s open source Chromium OS, CloudReady uses web apps and cloud storage instead of traditional software and local storage.

Q. How are CloudReady and Chromebooks different?

A: Both CloudReady and Chrome OS are based on the open-source Chromium OS. This is why these two operating systems work so similarly, though they are not the same. CloudReady is designed to be installed on existing PC and Mac hardware, whereas Chrome OS can only be found on official Chrome devices. A lot of the schools that we’re working with are facing issues with their old Windows 7 machines. After 14th Jan 2020, Windows 7 support ends. Windows will operate but the PCs will stop receiving security and feature updates. This makes them more vulnerable to viruses, spyware and data attacks.
