The Texas Music Educators Association Convention is held in February in San Antonio and features several All-State ensembles made up of students from around the state of Texas. Vocal students from 1A-4A schools, private and homeschool begin a three round audition process towards membership in the Small School Choir. (Students may choose to compete in the Large School contest if they prefer, but they cannot compete in both.)
1A-4A schools from Region 5 combine with region 30 and 31 for the first 2 rounds of auditions. The TMEA alignment map is available here.
