Agenda
Daily schedule: Arrival, circle time, learning centers, outdoor play, lunch/snacks, bus schedule, and dismissal.
Classroom routines: How children transition between activities, clean up, line up, and practice independence.
Curriculum: What children will learn in areas such as early literacy, math, science, social-emotional skills, art, and play-based learning.
Classroom rules and expectations: Kind behavior, listening, sharing, and safety rules.
Health and safety procedures: Illness policies, medications, allergies, emergency drills, and pickup procedures.
Communication: How teachers will share updates (emails, apps, newsletters, conferences) and how parents can reach them. Hanover Area SD App
Supplies and personal items: What children should bring each day, such as a backpack, extra clothes, etc.
Meals and snacks: Breakfast, lunch, and snack are provided. Allergy guidelines.
Family involvement: Ways parents can support learning at home.
Questions and classroom tour: Families often have a chance to meet the teacher, see the classroom, and ask questions.
The goal of orientation is to help both children and families feel comfortable, understand the program's expectations, and know what to expect on the first day of school.
