Our School Spring Festival is coming up on May 8th! Please be sure to sign up to volunteer to help make this event run smoothly. HCS also asks that your family helps by donating an item to the school's silent auction, or by contacting Mother's Club representatives and giving a donation which can be used to purchase a silent auction item.
Please mark your calendars for May 4th, for our track meet at CVC high school. This is such a fun event so make sure if your student signed up, you are there to support them and have a plan for being able to get your child home from CVC.
Our state research projects are underway!
Lots of research time already has been given in class, but check in with your student how their research is coming along! We would expect that at this point, each student is beginning to work on their posters! Each student will need to bring a poster board with them to school this week, as they will have alloted time each day to work on it! Your student will be typing different paragraphs or titles to show information on their posters, but there will no formal written report, as this project is meant to challenge students to present what they know! Your student is able to print things out at school, but anything in color will be printed at home. Our goal is to have the project and planned presentations presented to their fellow classmates on May 4th. We will be doing a presentation to parents and other grade levels in the gym on May 14th from 1:30-2:30 PM. YOUR 5TH GRADER HAS ALL THIS INFO AND MORE ON A PAPER IN THEIR BINDER! They even have a rubric that shows exactly how their project will be graded! Ask them to take it out and go over the information together!

Colossians 1:9-10
9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, 10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.
*You have already learned verse 10 this year since it's our theme verse, but we are going to work on learning the larger part of this passage to finish our school year!
