Mrs. Sheldon's Class
Week 11
Week 11
What a great week we had in 4th grade! I am looking forward to meeting with each of you this week during Parent/Teacher conferences.
Thank you SO much to all of the parents who came and helped with our Mission models last week! I am so impressed with the work your students put into these, and how they were able to work together as a team. We will be finishing these up tomorrow (Monday) since we didn't have school last Thursday. Please email me if you would like to come help between 1:30-2:30 tomorrow.
Students are working through their first book report of the year this week! The entire project will be due on Friday, November 16th. Rough drafts need to be complete by November 6th. We are working on these in class, and the packet will come home if students are falling behind. I will also send you an email if this happens. Instructions for the at home component of the project were sent home last week.
In Reading, we are continuing our first Book Clubs of the year. We will also be working on our book reports. In Math, we are starting our division unit. For Social Studies this week, we will be completing our study of the California Mission System. In Science, students will be learning about ecosystems. Our Bible unit is centered around the story of Ruth.
On October 27th we will be having a special welcome home Prayer and Pledge to those that have come back from the USS Abraham Lincoln. Please plan to wear Red White and Blue in lieu of Spirit Wear that day, as we want to show these families and students support and encouragement!
*Wear tennis shoes on Tues. and Thurs. for PE
*Bring binders to and from school each day
*October 29/30, Parent Teacher Conferences (No school)
*November 13, Veterans Day Observed (No school)
This week, please have students show you their binder and planner each day! This will help them get into the habit of checking it themselves daily throughout the year.
It is a NOT a test week for spelling and vocabulary! In addition to their packet, there is also a Quizlet link that they can use at home to study, linked here.
