There are a lot of fun things happening on campus this week. It is Warrior Week! Your child may participate in the dress-up days this week. See the home page for more information. On Friday students will be split into two teams and will need to dress according to their team color. Click here for the team lists. Penny wars started at the Spring Festival - please encourage your child to bring coins to school in support of our school through this fun competition.  

 Wednesday Field Trip

On Wednesday, we will be going on our Field trip to the Historic Train Depot in Kingsburg and visiting a few local businesses. Unfortunately, the train depot tour is limited to additional guests so this trip is for students only. Please have your child wear good walking shoes and a Hanford Christian shirt on that day. Students may select to pre-order pizza on Monday or bring a sack lunch. We will eat lunch when we return to school after the field trip. Wednesday is also an early dismissal day. Dismissal is at 1:30 pm. 

NEW HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT

If your child was having difficulty with reading comprehension this past quarter, a reading packet for additional practice will be sent home. Please check your child's folder on Monday for this packet and have your student complete it to return to school by Friday. This will be a new homework assignment given each week for those who need support with developing reading comprehension skills.

Friendly Reminders

Library Books must be returned to school on Thursday. 

Please be sure your child is wearing appropriate shoes and clothes for P.E. on Mondays and Fridays. 

Please send a reusable water bottle with your child to school each day. Thank you

Weekly Expectations

Reading: Please have your child read aloud to you for 20 minutes each night and record the title on the homework log.

Math: On Tuesdays and Thursdays, your child will have a practice timed math facts test. The test will come home for you to review with your child and finish completing if needed. Please return the completed test the next day. 

We will start the math homework in class each day. At the end of our math time, your child will take home their math homework, completed or not, to be reviewed with a parent and completed if necessary. All math pages must be returned the following day to be looked over by the teacher and reviewed as a class. 

Memory Verse: Please help your child memorize their assigned memory verse. 

Superkids Backpack Pages: You will be receiving a Superkids workbook to keep at home that we will refer to as “Backpack Pages.” You will be responsible for helping your child tear out and complete the assigned pages each week. These pages will be turned in each day. The weekly spelling list and assigned backpack pages will be updated below each week and tested on Friday.
