We are looking forward to welcoming grandparents and grand friends to campus on Wednesday, February 28. This is a special time for students to spend with their grandparents. There will be a reception at 10 AM, and the K-5 program will begin at 10:30 AM. Classroom visits will be after the program, and dismissal is at 11:30 AM.
***Due to limited parking, parents are not invited to attend this event.

New Behavior Notifications
To streamline reporting and accountability, HCS teachers in grades K-4 will be implementing behavior notice emails to keep parents informed. Behavior notices will be emailed when a student chooses to be defiant at school, physically harms another student or teacher, is unkind to others, displays improper behavior, or uses inappropriate language. The notice is not limited to these behaviors, however. The first behavior notice serves to let you know what happened at school and that the classroom teacher addressed it with the student. The second behavior notification will explain what happened at school and that an administrator spoke with the student about their behavior choices. If a 3rd email needs to be sent, a conference will be scheduled with the parents, classroom teacher and an administrator to address the recurring behavior issues. If your student receives a behavior notification, please do not contact the teacher but discuss it with your student first. If you have questions about this new policy, please reach out to Mrs. Schmidt.
Friendly Reminders
Library Books must be returned to school on Thursday.
Please be sure your child is wearing appropriate shoes and clothes for P.E. on Mondays and Fridays.

Math: On Tuesdays and Thursdays, your child will have a practice timed math facts test. The test will come home for you to review with your child and finish completing if needed. Please return the completed test the next day.
We will start the math homework in class each day. At the end of our math time, your child will take home their math homework, completed or not, to be reviewed with a parent and completed if necessary. All math pages must be returned the following day to be looked over by the teacher and reviewed as a class.
Memory Verse: Please help your child memorize their assigned memory verse.
Superkids Backpack Pages: You will be receiving a Superkids workbook to keep at home that we will refer to as “Backpack Pages.” You will be responsible for helping your child tear out and complete the assigned pages each week.
