Hello parents!  I hope you all had a great weekend!  I am so thankful for the time we have to rest and recharge.  I am looking forward to seeing all my amazing students on Monday!  

As we get more into the rhythm of school, things are smoothing out and starting to become more natural for all of us.  Thank you for your prayers and for all you do!  I am so thankful I have the privilege of partnering with you in helping your child grow in Christ and academically!

This is going to be a fairly short update this week, so:

Just A Few Things:

Literacy Centers Volunteers:

• I will be opening the Literacy Center Volunteer Sign-Up list for Quarter 2.  Please know there is no pressure to volunteer! I just wanted to open the opportunity if you would like to come in and help.  As a volunteer, I may have specific activities to help students with at a center, or I may simply ask volunteers to roam around the classroom, help students who need help, and encourage them to stay on task. 

  • • If you would like to help, please contact Ms. Phelps in the front office to sign up as a volunteer (if you haven't already).  HCS will run a basic background check for all school volunteers.  To check available dates, please check our Literacy Center Volunteer schedule to sign up for any dates you may be available.

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip:

• First Grade will be going to a Pumpkin Patch on Tuesday, October 20th in the morning.  Please be on the look out for more information coming soon.  I hope you can join us!

Finally, some Upcoming Dates to keep in mind (there are a lot of events coming up) :

• 9/30 - Pre-Order Pizza for Friday

• 9/30 - Early Dismissal at 1:30

• 10/2 - Pizza for Lunch (ordered Wednesday)

• 10/6 - Picture Retakes (7:30 - 9:00)

• 10/7 - Early Dismissal at 1:30

• 10/20 - Pumpkin Patch Field Trip
