Wow!  This is the last week of the school year!  I cannot believe how quickly this year flew by, and you now have almost 2nd graders in your home!  Amazing!

We have a fairly short update this week and it is going to go by quickly!  

No Homework!

• There is no homework this week.  

  • • Last week was our last spelling quiz, our last math fact quiz, and our last memory verse quiz.  

• We have one more unit math test and I will be finishing up a final fluency assessments.

• We will aslo be working on our end of the year projects and we have some fun activities planned for this week!

Special Guest:

• My husband and oldest daughter breed and sell colubrid snakes. On Tuesday, May 19th (around 1:30), my husband will be bringing in some snakes to share with our class and Mrs. Bell's class.  The students will learn about the types of snakes brought and how they are good for the environment.  They will have the opportunity to see, touch, and possible hold an animal that is generally frightening in a new light.  If you would like to join us, we would love to have you!

End of the Year Party:

• On Friday, students do no need their backpacks or a snack. 

• We will have one final End of the Year Assembly in the gym at 9:00 am.  

• After our Assembly, student get to end the school year with a fun water day!  

  • Students will need water bottles (disposable water bottles with their name written on it is preferable), towels, water shoes (no flip-flops please), and modest swimsuits.  Girls need to wear one-piece suits and dress-code length shorts with their swimsuits and boys will need a t-shirt to wear with their swim trunks.  Students will be provided with a snack and fun activities until it is time to pack up for dismissal at 11:30.

• 5/22 - End of the Year Party (Half Day  Dismissal at 11:30)
