Jones Library Mission

The mission of the Jones Library Media Center is to promote information literacy, encourage digital citizenship, and foster a love of reading. The Library provides books, periodicals, and online resources to support the middle school curriculum and the Virginia SOL’s. Our collection of 10,000 books provides the students with great opportunities for both enrichment and improving reading skills.

General Information

Students normally come to the Library as part of their Language Arts classes, usually on a weekly basis. Students make book selections, conduct research, receive library skills instruction, learn new technology , and enjoy leisure reading. Teachers may allow students to visit the library anytime during the school day, using the signed agenda as their pass.

Library Policies and Procedures

  • Students may check out up to three books for two weeks and renew as needed.
  • Student agenda barcodes may be used for checking out books.
