Jones Library Mission
The mission of the Jones Library Media Center is to promote information literacy, encourage digital citizenship, and foster a love of reading. The Jones Library Media Center is the hub of the school for research and reading. The Library provides books, periodicals, and online resources to support the middle school curriculum and the Virginia SOL’s. Our collection of 10,000 books provides the students with great opportunities for both enrichment and improving reading skills.
General Jones Library Information
Students normally come to the library as part of their Language Arts classes, usually on a bi-weekly basis. During this time, students will make book selections, conduct research, receive library skills instruction and technology training, and enjoy leisure reading. Teachers may allow students to visit the library during the school day, using the signed agenda as their pass.
Library Policies and Procedures
The Library Media Center is open on all school days during school hours.
Students may check out up to three books for two weeks and renew as needed.
Students may pay for missing or damaged books at the end of the school year.
