Summer classes are available to current Hamline students, transfer students, and visiting students—you do not need to be a registered Hamline student to take advantage of summer courses! 

Hamline's May & summer courses are offered in a variety of formats, in-person, hybrid, and online. Choose your courses based on how and what you want to learn this summer:

• Immerse yourself in condensed 3-, 4-, 8-, or 12-week courses for a one-of-a-kind learning experience.

• Get ahead! Each course moves you 4 credits closer to graduation.

• Earn one or two Hamline Plan letters with just one class.

• Follow your curiosities and delve into a new topic. It’s what the liberal arts are all about!

This year, we are starting our summer with a 3-week May Term. Because May Term is part of summer, the courses are all listed under Summer 2021. May Term courses meet Monday, May 10 through Friday, May 28. Summer courses start on or after Monday, June 6. Just click on the course titles to see when they meet!  

A sample of May offerings include: Art Appreciation; Biotechnology in Your Life; Topics in Chinese Art; American Environmental Writing; Mindfulness and Health; see the course listings for more.

Example summer offerings include: World Art; Biology of Women; Human Impacts on Aquatic Ecology; Public Speaking; Statistics; Music of the Middle East; Energy, Environment, and the Economy; Brain and Behavior; Social Issues; and many more.

• Registration opens Monday, March 1.

• Current Hamline students register online via Piperline.

• Admitted transfer students for fall, contact Kaia Sherburne (ksherburne01@hamline.edu) for help with registration.

• Non-Hamline students email, mail, or fax in a registration form.
