Academic Scheduling at Hamline University is a function of Registration and Records. Our office works closely with academic departments and programs to build and maintain class listings for all undergraduate and graduate programs, and we maintain uniform scheduling policies, guidelines, and procedures across all schools to ensure that the schedules are accurate and equitable.
NOTE: The course scheduling process is currently under revision pending the new faculty governance structure. Scheduling for Spring 2026 will follow a temporary process which is being communicated directly to the scheduling faculty.
Previous process: Designated staff, Administrative Heads in the CLA, and Department Chairs in the HSB have access to the Master Academic Schedule spreadsheets in Google. All scheduling, including new sections and changes to existing sections, are made through the Google sheets. If you are a designated scheduling person, you can access the sheets here:
Spring 2026 Course Schedule Change Request (add/cancel/change) - This form will be live starting on October 3, 2025
If you need to reserve seats in a course for a specific type of student (such as majors or new incoming first years), please use this form.
Classrooms for courses are scheduled by Registration and Records, with the exception of additional sessions scheduled outside of the regular meeting times for a course. Any one-time, special room needs (study sessions, different room for a guest presenter, etc.) should be made through 25Live.
To request a change to the room in which your course has been scheduled, please use this form.
Hamline has a variety of active learning classroom spaces: BML 301, EAST 12, EAST 316A, EAST 316B, WEST 240A, WEST 4, and WEST 6. These classrooms have differing levels of technology, types of furniture, and options for configuration to encourage interactive, engaging student-centered learning.
For more information about our ALC spaces, including room description, default configuration, technology, and guides can be found on the Active Learning Classrooms website. Please note: this is a Google site and you may need to log in with your Hamline credentials.
Schedule an ALC space:
To request an ALC space for your course, have your department chair/program director submit it as a classroom preference in the associated column of the Master Academic Schedule spreadsheet.
To request a single use of an ALC space, make your request through 25Live. Please note, these requests must be made at least one week in advance of the date you would like to use the room.
Final Exam Schedule - Please include this information in your syllabus and note that, unless you arrange otherwise, your final exam will be held in your regularly-scheduled classroom.
Hamline Undergraduate Class Timetable - Approved meeting times for all Hamline undergraduate courses. Please note: courses that request non-standard meeting times will be asked to provide rationale.
