The framework for my action plan is to continue my internal assessment and analysis, which includes doing a Comprehensive Needs Assessment based on the urgency of the problems and the timelines they need to be remedied. While I am defining specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound SMART goals (Leader and Stern, 2008) for organizational communication, the immediate challenges of the school budget, transportation, and MDE pending grants must be addressed first; I cannot hire newly licensed teachers if we do not have a payroll in our bank account. Again, as stated in Model 10: “I needed to go through numerous iterations of this problem-identification process” (Hoverman, 2023) with staff, board, and the authorizer so we are on the same page to triage and recovery of best practices for the school. Judgment with accountability will be the rutter for this school change.
