Hamline’s Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) partners with faculty and staff to advance inclusive, high-impact teaching that supports student success and retention. The CTL provides practical, faculty- and staff-centered support for course design, pedagogy, assessment, and instructional innovation across programs, including the Online Degree Completion Program (ODC) and Continuing Studies.
A key focus of the CTL is supporting new faculty as they transition into teaching at Hamline. Through orientation, mentoring, and targeted programming, the CTL helps new colleagues navigate institutional expectations, develop effective teaching practices, and build connections across the campus community.
By working with different offices and committees across campus, the CTL strengthens teaching practices and aligns with institutional priorities and changing student needs.
Each year, the CTL hosts Professional Development Day conferences in August, January, and May, along with ongoing workshops and sessions designed to support faculty and staff in their teaching and professional growth.
