Students are welcome to bring one snack each day. We ask that snacks be simple and healthy—for example: fruit, veggies, crackers, string cheese, dry cereal, or granola bars. Finger foods work best, but if your child brings something like yogurt, applesauce, or a fruit cup, be sure to pack the necessary utensil.
Snacks should be easy for your child to manage. They should be able to open their snack independently (or with scissors, if needed).
Snack time is meant to be a quick refuel, not a small meal. Please save treats such as cookies, cupcakes, or candy for home.
Our classroom is an allergy-aware zone. Snacks must not contain peanuts or tree nuts (These items are still allowed at lunch, just not during snack time.).
Thank you for your cooperation!
Hamilton elementary schools do not allow food or other items to be brought in to celebrate birthdays. Student birthdays are recognized over announcements each morning and will receive a birthday pencil from the office. Students will also make cards for their classmates on their birthday in class. Summer birthdays will get theirs to open on their birthday in the summer!
Per the Student Handbook, birthday party invitations are not allowed to be handed out at school.

I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child throughout the upcoming year, which surely promises to bring with it, many new experiences. In order to make the year a successful one, teamwork and cooperation will be required by all. As your son or daughter’s teacher, it is my goal to help him/her become a confident learner and I will do my best to help make this year a positive experience for your child. It is my belief that positive interaction between teacher and parents strengthens the feeling of support all children need for success in school. I encourage you to feel comfortable asking questions or sharing concerns throughout the year.
My preferred method, and easiest way for you to get a hold of me during the day, is through Seesaw. You may also feel free contact me at boetbr@hamilton.k12.wi.us as this email is checked on a daily basis. Although both of these are checked daily, if you have an urgent matter during the school day, please contact the office, as I can't guarantee I will see your message on time.
I believe in keeping our brains hydrated throughout the day, so I ask that each child bring a plastic, reusable water bottle to school each day. This also helps us avoid long lines at the bubbler. It’s very important that the water bottle does not leak, especially if it tips on its side. (No “chug lids,” please.) Spills and leaks can be a big distraction, and we want to keep our focus on learning and fun!
Water bottles should contain water only. If you fill the bottle at home, please place it in the side pocket of your child’s backpack so it doesn’t spill on books and papers. If your child’s backpack doesn’t have a side pocket, simply send the bottle empty, and they can fill it when they arrive at school. And don’t forget to label it with your child’s name, as this helps us keep track of bottles and avoid mix-ups.
Thanks so much for helping us stay hydrated, safe, and ready to learn!
If your family is going through a difficult time, I’d like to provide a little extra support at school. I understand that you may not always want to share details, and that’s absolutely okay. If your child comes to school after a tough night, morning, or weekend, please just message me “Handle with Care.” Nothing else needs to be said. This simple phrase will let me know your child may need some extra time, patience, or support during the day.
