"Career Connect," Hamilton' Job Shadowing program, gives students the opportunity to explore careers by connecting directly with local professionals and experiencing the workplace firsthand. Through job shadowing experiences, students gain insight into different industries, learn about day-to-day career responsibilities, and build connections with professionals in fields that interest them. These experiences help students make informed decisions about future pathways while developing professional skills and confidence.
Interested in exploring a career in the skilled trades? The Home Building Trades Foundation offers a Trade Job Shadowing Program that connects students with experienced professionals in areas such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other home-building careers. Students get an inside look at the day-to-day work, learn about the skills needed for success, ask questions, and explore whether a career in the trades could be a good fit for their future. Apply here if interested!
SPARK is Hamilton’s profession-based learning experience designed to connect students with real-world careers, industry partners, and authentic problem-solving. Through hands-on, project-based courses, students work alongside educators and professionals to explore career pathways, develop technical skills, and apply their learning to meaningful experiences beyond the classroom.
SPARK courses combine academic learning with real-world application, giving students the opportunity to collaborate, create, and prepare for future careers while building the skills employers value most: communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and innovation.
Explore. Create. Connect. SPARK your future.

Gain valuable real-world experience through Hamilton's Internship Program. Internships provide students with the opportunity to explore career interests, build professional skills, and make meaningful industry connections. These unpaid experiences vary in length and hours based on the partner organization and student availability. Current opportunities include a marketing internship with the Hamilton Education Foundation (HEF), where students work on social media, event promotion, community outreach, and marketing projects that support educational initiatives across the district. Additional internship opportunities will continue to be added as partnerships grow.
