How can students stay healthy & active while at home during the Pandemic:
1. Get plenty of rest.
2. Stay active.
3. Eat a balanced diet.
4. Drink lots of water.
5. Wear your mask when out in public.
6. Wash your hands often.
7. Remember to keep your distance ( 6ft apart while around others)
This can be a stressful time for parents, children, and educators. Remember to find a way to relax and take time to do something for yourself. Here is a link to a flyer with suggestions on how to deal with stress during a pandemic.
During At Home Learning, meals will be provided for students at no cost for children under the age of 18. Buses will continue to run at 8AM Monday through Friday. Be sure to be waiting at the bus stop if you wish to receive meals. You may also pick up meals at our school's back entrance from 10:30-11:30.
We are currently looking to fill a lunchroom monitor position. This paid position is for approximately 2 1/4 hours each day. If you interested in this opportunity, please email Mae Lee at Mae.Lee@hallco.org.
If you have not completed the Free or Reduced Meal application (even though meals are free for all students this year), PLEASE DO SO! You may complete your application at www.schoolmeals.hallco.org and find more information here.
Our CMCSI Character Education Word of the month is Responsibility. Students are learning that responsibility is showing you can be trusted with what is expected of you. Please see more resources for parents to use to discuss Responsibility here.
Acceptance is this month's Community Topic at CMCSI. Students are learning what acceptance means and examples of ways to show acceptance of others. Students will be learning about community influencers from history such as Juliette Hampton Morgan and Cesar Chavez and how they demonstrated acceptance, fairness & responsibility.
CMCSI Spirit Nights take place each month! If your family visits the restaurant or drive-thru on our CMCSI Spirit Night, a portion of the sales will be donated to the school! Mark your calendar for these:
January 21 @ Wendy's in Oakwood (Mundy Mill Location)- Drive Thru Only
February 2 @ Great American Cookie/ Marble Slab Creamery in Braselton
March 4 @ McDonald's in Oakwood
Since our water fountains cannot be used this year, we provide bottled water for students who forget their water bottles. If you would like to donate a case of water (regular sized OR small bottles are great too!) to your child's classroom or the front office, we would appreciate it!
Please continue to send hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes (like Clorox wipes) for our classrooms. Please consider donating to your child's classroom, our Media Center, gym, Computer Lab, etc. We appreciate your help!
